The Horse

A squire was responsible for arming his knight’s horse in a combination of leather and steel pieces, which could be both decorative and/or protective. Watch Hawthorne, our knight’s trusty black steed, get outfitted for a tournament in this video. The squire puts on a number of highly-crafted elements, including decorative leather barding and an impressive steel shaffron (protective plate for the horse’s face).
