The Fitzwilliam Museum houses world-class collections of works of art and antiquities spanning centuries and civilisations.
Highlights include masterpieces of painting from the fourteenth century to the present day, drawings and prints, sculpture, furniture, armour, pottery and glass, oriental art, illuminated manuscripts, coins and medals and antiquities from Egypt, the Ancient Near East, Greece, Rome and Cyprus.
French Impressionist Gallery now open
See artworks by Monet, Matisse, Cézanne, Pissarro, Degas, Sisley and Renoir in the newly renovated Gallery 5.
Temporary Gallery closures 2011/12
Galleries 12 & 11: The series of spectacular exhibitions at the Fitzwilliam continuing through 2012 will involve the temporary removal of displays of 20th century art in the Adeane Gallery (12). Early 20th century art will continue to be shown in Gallery 11 until January 2012.
