The Fitzwilliam Museum is hosting a six month ICON internship in the  Department of Antiquities, which holds a world class collection of  ancient Egyptian material.

The department has been carrying out a conservation and research project focusing on the Museum’s ancient Egyptian coffins for a number of years. This project has already produced the highly successful Death on the Nile: Uncovering the Afterlife of Ancient Egypt exhibition and exhibition catalogue, the related specialist workshop and international conference, and is building towards a major digital publication of curatorial and conservation research that is due to be launched in Autumn 2018.

The internship will primarily focus on the conservation of four coffins that are part of the Ancient Egyptian Coffin Project.

Full details about the internship and how to apply can be found at https://icon.org.uk/what-is-conservation/internships
