The Fitzwilliam Museum is the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and welcomes r c.500,000 visitors a year   It has internationally important collections organised in five curatorial departments and provides education and information services for a variety of audiences. The collection is housed in 25 galleries and there are several other stores and offices.

The collection contains irreplaceable and priceless objects and security is of paramount importance.

Two experienced Security Assistants are required to join the existing Security team in order to maintain the high standard of security for the Museum, its exhibits, staff and visitors, including contractors.

The successful candidate will be flexible, have a sound general education with good literacy, numeracy and IT skills as well as an impeccable employment record and good character. The ability to communicate in a courteous and calm manner as is the ability to handle difficult situations are essential requirements. 

Experience of security work is essential. An SIA Licence is welcomed as is experience within the museums and cultural sector.
