Welcoming everyone in our community
We believe that the Fitzwilliam Museum is a place for everyone.

We also make the most of the museum as a space for everyone to enjoy. By helping to make connections between people and our collections and celebrating these conversations, we hope that everyone will feel at home at the museum.

What do the Fitzwilliam Museum’s community programmes do?

We offer;
-    Touch tours and audio described tours for individuals or groups who are blind or partially sighted.
-    Gallery sessions and art workshops for local community groups, many of whom have specific needs.
-    Sessions, meetings, training days for community group leaders who would like to visit the Museum with their group but would like to find out more first.

We also undertake partnership work with organisations like Addenbrookes Hospital and Dementia compass.

Our focus is on ability over disability and we carefully design our talks, tours, creative workshops and outreach sessions according to the specific needs of our visitors.
